Crackin' the Whip

Lisa and I have finally decided that Cheddar and Malphurs need to begin pulling their (increasing) weight around here. Up 'til now, they have mostly occupied themselves with eating, sleeping, pooping and attacking each other. But there is serious work to be done in this missionary household, so we have assigned them the chores of filing away our paperwork and replying to some of the emails of our friends and supporters. We hope this will streamline our operation significantly.

I'm hoping there are no mice or rats for them to catch. That was the most vital job of our cat, Ardo, in Cameroon. And boy, was he good at it. We would hear him out on the front porch - crunch, crunch, crunch. He wasn't much bigger than Cheddar and Malphurs when he got started on his mousing career! Maybe your kitties will prove themselves in filing and correspondence and move on to the exterminating business...but I really hope you won't have a need for their services there!

Hopefully no mouse duty ... but perhaps oversized bugs (which will provide a modicum of extra protein). I sure look forward to meeting "the boys". By the way, do you have plans to neuter them? I'm assumeing they will remain indoor-kitties (letting them outside would bring heartache if they disappear or become neighborhood warriors) and neutered males are less apt to have a need to "mark" their territory.

Greetings, Misers! I'm glad to see that you're settling well in Bolivia. And I see that your family is growing, too. How sweet! Yes, the kitties look VERY cute, but I'm not really a cat person. My first reason for not being a cat person was because they shed. Well, my dog sheds like crazy, so that reason is out. I can't really remember the other reasons...I guess I need to open my mind up to cats more and give them a little more credit. I'm glad to hear you all are well. I'll have to add your blog to the vast array of blogs I check regularly! Be good and drink more coffee. :-)

Sam thinks your cats are really cute and said he wants to pet them! Then, he says "Does Scotty & Lisa have a baby now too?" No idea where that one came from....too funny!!! Have fun with the crazy kittens! :)
