Step One: Fluff branches
Scotty and I bought our first Christmas tree this year in the market- it's taller than him! We waited until we moved to the new place to put it up with hopes that we'd bring some Christmas spirit to the place. It really brings life to the apartment and the cats have taken to climbing through the thick branches, and hiding near the base when I come at them with the spray bottle for discipline. We had lots of fun putting it together:

PS I told David about your cat-tree-climbing dilemma, and he said a water gun might be more effective than a spray bottle on those lower branches. (as we said before, he is NOT a cat lover!)
That's a BIG tree! It's beautiful! We got ours this weekend. It's up, but not decorated. Hopefully we will do that tonight.
beautiful Christmas tree! we have a fake one too this year. we don't have cats climbing on our tree... we just have kids... dancing into it and trying to eat the ornaments! so much fun!
